Agonizing decisions had to be made knowing full well that many lives would be lost. But the alternative was even more unthinkable. Hitler had to be stopped at all costs. The Americans, Canadians and British were the ones to do it and they would get it done. Resistance forces also risked their lives to support the invading troops and the Russians were pushing on the Eastern Front. It was a massive undertaking that took months of planning, secrecy, and death.
We encourage all our members interested in helping to commemorate this occasion to attend the Fly In by the D-D Squadron in May. Watch for details.
Facilitator: Gary Smith, our movie history expert, also has a passion for WWII history.
