Historical Trail - Allagash Historical Society
with Penny Kern
Free
Seniors Achieving Greater Education and the Sargent Family Community Center has teamed up for a special project to meet a request to “learn more about the towns in Aroostook County.” For the rest of the academic year, we will be planning excursions to historical sites and societies across the County to gather interesting information and experiences.
This is our first one – to kick off this project. We have been invited to the Allagash Museum, have lunch at Two Rivers Lunch, and then head to Fort Kent and then back to the Community Center. We will meet at the Sargent Family Community Center at 7:30AM on September 24. Drive 2 hours to Allagash to visit the museum. Then, we will stop and have lunch in Allagash, stop in Fort Kent for another visit to a historical site leaving Fort Kent around 3:30PM to be back in Presque Isle by 5PM. Bring money for lunch, any other personal expenses, dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
Space is limited. Please call the Sargent Family Community Center (764-2545) to register. There is no fee for this trip for the van.
We are collecting ideas for other places to visit in 2025 – 2026. Have a suggestion? Call SAGE at 768-9501 or email us at sageatumpi@outlook.com.
