Oct 15 – The Water Keeper by Charles Martin. Murphy Shepherd is a man with many secrets. He lives alone on an island, tending the grounds of a church with no parishioners, and he has dedicated his life to rescuing those in peril. But as he mourns the loss of his mentor and friend, Murph himself may be more lost than he realizes.
Nov 19 – Death of a Duchess by Nellie H. Steele. Lenora, a lonely orphan with a mysterious gift, has resigned herself to a life of solitude. A surprise proposal from a Scottish duke brightens her prospects, but the offer comes with a dark request. She must use her ability to communicate with the dead to investigate the mystery behind the duke’s first wife’s suicide.
Dec 17 – The Tattered Cover by Ellery Adams. As the residents of Miracle Springs, North Carolina, select their costumes, plan parties, and get excited for a night of tricks or treats, Nora joins in on the festivities by hosting medium memoirist Lara Luz at the bookstore. Charismatic and compelling, Lara mesmerizes the audience with her life story. Struck by a bolt of lightning as a child, she was pronounced dead only to be resurrected with the ability to connect with those on the other side.
Jan 21 – At Midnight Comes the Cry by Julia Spencer Fleming. It’s Christmas time in Millers Kill, and Reverend Clare Fergusson and her husband Russ van Alstyne - newly resigned from his position as chief of police – plan to enjoy it with their baby boy. On their list: visiting Santa, decorating the tree, and attending the church Christmas pageant. But when a beloved holiday parade is crashed by white supremacists, Clare and Russ find themselves sucked into a parallel world of militias, machinations, and murder.
