AARP Smart Driver Course

The AARP Smart Driver course teaches valuable defensive driving skills and provides a refresher understanding of the rules of the road. You will learn proven safety strategies to help keep you safe on the road. Plus, you may qualify for an automobile insurance discount for three (3) years by completing this course.
Please bring your lunch and arrive before 9AM to complete the paperwork. You must have your AARP membership number to take advantage of the reduced amount. Instructor: Penny Kern has been an AARP Smart Driver instructor for over 5 years.

Using simple ingredients like beeswax, shea butter, and essential oils, we will explore recipes tailored to hydrate and protect delicate skin. You will leave with a tube of your own handmade balm, ready to share or keep! Whether you are crafty or a complete beginner, this class is a terrific way to learn a new skill, connect with others, and embrace healthy winter wellness. Instructor: Rosie Otalora is a licensed Massage Therapist and Natural Product Creator. She is the heart behind Massage by Rosie O. Rosie now focuses her passion on creating natural wellness products that reflect her deep knowledge of body care and healing.

Learn how to create delicious, healthier versions of your favorite meals with less oil and less mess. We will cover air fryer basics, safety tips, and simple recipes for appetizers, main dishes, and even desserts. Enjoy tasting your creations and gain confidence to use your air fryer at home. Whether you are new to air friers or looking to expand your skills, this friendly, supportive class will help you make quick, tasty meals with ease. Join us and get inspired in the kitchen! Northern Light Home Care, Hospice & The House of Comfort

Membership in Senior College is not required.
Home Care- Our Home Health services at Northern Light are designed to help you stay at home when that is better for you. The focus is on recovery, quality of life, and independence so we can reduce emergency room visits and hospital re-admissions. Hospice- Northern Light Hospice services help those with terminal diagnosis stay in their home, surrounded by family and friends. Our hospice program provides compassionate end of life care and support wherever you call home. Our team works in partnership with patients and their families to coordinate a continuum of care based on patients’ unique needs and wishes. Aroostook House of Comfort- The Aroostook House of Comfort is an inpatient hospice and respite care facility owned by the Aroostook Hospice Foundation and staffed by Northern Light Home Care & Hospice, a Medicare-certified hospice provider in the area. Together we offer individuals and their families compassionate care, comfort, dignity, and support on their journey through hospice. Presenter: Kristi St. Peter, OTR/L, BCG-Graduated from UNE, has been an Occupational Therapist for 30 years and has been with NL for 10 years. Dahna Plourde RN- Graduated from UMFK in fall of 2018 and have been with NLHH since September 2022. Hospice Outreach RN. Abbey Clair is the Executive Director for the Aroostook Hospice foundation, owner of the Aroostook House of Comfort. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, graduating from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in 2011 with a Bachelor of Social Work and the University of Maine at Orono with a Master of Social Work in 2015. She has been with the Aroostook Hospice Foundation since September of 2022.
