SAGE membership is available for anyone over 50+ and interested in lifelong learning.  There are no tests, little homework and no pressure to achieve any preset standards.  It is for the fun, friendship and keeping the brain sharp.

We need two forms completed - Assumption of Risk and a Photo Release.  After your registration is complete, you will receive an email with a link to the forms that need to be completed.  When you complete it and hit "submit", it will automatically be sent to us. 

The Membership fee covers September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027.  The membership fee must be paid to take classes through SAGE or other Senior Colleges.  Membership Fees Are Non-Refundable. We do not prorate this fee if someone joins for just one semester.

Fee is for the Sargent Family Community Center for fuel and will be determined by the mileage.  Lunch is on you. We will leave from the Sargent Family Community Center.

Join SAGE for a unique learning adventure across Aroostook County as we explore the history and heritage of the communities that define "The County." Traveling together to local historical societies, museums, and historical sites, participants will hear stories from local historians, see artifacts from earlier generations, and discover how each town contributed to the region's rich cultural history.  From early settlements and farming traditions to railroads, border history, and local legends, this journey brings Aroostook's past life - one town, one story, and one stop at a time.

Each trip will be a separate registration, fee and schedule. However, all trips will begin and end at the Sargent Family Community Center and all registration and payments will be collected by them also.

A beginner's Mahjongg class introduces participants to the fundamentals of the game, including tile identification, game setup, and basic rules. The course covers gameplay mechanics, including drawing and discarding tiles, as well as strategies for winning hands. Come join in on the fun!

This club was formed for anyone enthusiastic about model railroading, from long-term hobbyists to those just getting started. This club will explore the rich history of model railroads while also focusing on modern designs, tools, and building techniques. Members will work together to plan and build a shared display using current materials, digital controls, and creative scenery methods. Meetings will also cover topics new collectors care about, including choosing scales, basic wiring, layout planning, maintenance, and collecting tips. The club offers a welcoming space to learn, share ideas, and enjoy the timeless fun of model railroading together.  Organizer: Rick Asam

All SAGE members and friends are invited to participate in a planning session that will guide our program and class development for the next two years (starting with the spring 2027 semester). We are calling this day “Planning for the Future of SAGE.”

All are welcome! Guests and non-members are welcome.

We have had good results from our previous planning sessions and hope to do the same this fall.

Class will be held at the Cooperative Extension Office, 57 Houlton Road, Presque Isle

This hands-on cooking class introduces students to the Instant Pot as a versatile, time-saving kitchen tool. Participants will learn how it works, explore its key settings and safety features, and gain confidence using the functions. The instructor will demonstrate simple, flavorful recipes for breakfast that will include protein. Emphasis is placed on safe operation, easy cleanup, and meal planning for busy or budget-friendly kitchens. Bring your own version of electric pressure cookers if you wish. No prior experience needed—just bring curiosity and an appetite for learning.

Remillie Norsworthy has been playing cribbage since she was seven, just old enough to do addition in one's head!

Cribbage is an easy game to learn, but it takes strategy to play the odds in choosing the cards you keep before the communal trump card is revealed for everyone to use. We will learn what card combinations score points, how to leapfrog pegs on the board to keep track of your score, and how to try to out-think your opponent(s) when playing the "pegging" part of the game. We will work on strategy and play for 2, 3 and 4 players in regular cribbage, and for a single person in "Chinese" cribbage.

No experience necessary--we'll teach ya! If participants have a cribbage board and a deck of cards at home, please bring them, but lacking a board, cribbage can be played on paper!
